A NEW SEASON!
September 27, 2016
Hi, My name is Mike, I am CRAZY PASSIONATE about serving God and live in Bend, Oregon. I have a wonderful wife, Tiffany, our amazing son, Brayden, and our second son, Elijah, is due in December. In over eight years of marriage, we have given our lives to serve the local church that God has placed us in. For the past six years, the Lord planted us in Bend, Oregon - specifically Antioch Church. On October 1st, 2015 I am entering the Pastoral Residency Program at Kilns College in partnership with Antioch Church!
What have we been doing the past 6 years?
The past few years have been vital in education and growth. Though we have not been on staff at our church until recently, Tiffany and I have served in multiple ministries, including one especially near to our hearts called Kinship. Kinship is the current outreach/community fellowship time for the young adults in our church. We have focused on building relationships and living life with this community. In December, I received a BA in Leadership and Ministry from Multnomah University. Now after 6 years of hard work, education, diligent training, and building we are ready for this next step!
Joining God in His work
Bend, Oregon is like no other place we’ve been. It’s a beautiful town with so much to do and see—home to some influential and well-networked Christian leaders. Bend is a growing community and will soon be the host of a brand new Oregon State College campus. We feel called to continue serving God in the heart of this influential and growing young community. That’s why we our stepping into this “Pastoral Residency Program”. We want to grow in the knowledge of God, while serving Christ and His local church.
We are uniquely qualified and called to reach this community.
We know Bend. We’ve lived here, worked here, and are raising our kids here.
We are passionate about serving young adults in this transitional season of life.
Our recent college ministry experience has been vital in helping build relationships with the young adults in this community.
We’ve personally called on Antioch to advise and train us. They have been with us and will continue every step of the way.
Would you give financially to our transition into The Pastoral Residency Program?
This program will provide further pastoral training in a hands-on approach to education, focusing on leading and investing in the young college age adults at Antioch. It is a self-funded position and we are currently fundraising our salary. This Crowdrise campaign will help us to pay for the transition into the program as well as help during the raising of our salary.
Would you join God in His work through us by giving to this transition into ministry?
Where The Money Will Go:
$9,500 – will help Tiffany and I TAKE CARE OF BABY ELIJAH and devote ourselves to pastoring the young adults at Antioch Church while we fundraise our salary. On top of helping with living expenses this fall, this funding will provide Mike the ability to get a road bike to commute around town on, pay for some tuition and school supplies at Kilns, buy some needed ministry tools and literature, pay for some small fundraising costs, and help with a few small startup costs for an online business we are building to supplement our income and further the ministry.
This is simply an invitation to join God in His work through us in this Pastoral Residency Program. We are SO excited for this next season of ministry! We thank you and love you all dearly. May God Bless You BIG!
“And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.” 1 Colossians 1:10-12
