The Rollstone Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization with a mission of assisting in the adoption of Special-Needs Children worldwide. Many of these children, particularly in Third World nations, are HIV Positive, or suffer from things like Cerebral Palsy, or Down Syndrome, or blindness, or were born into extreme poverty that has drained them physically and emotionally. For many, adoption is literally the difference between life and death. The sad fact is that prospective parents with the means to adopt usually do not want a Special Needs child. Prospective parents who have it in their heart to adopt such a child often do not have the means to do so. The cost of such an international adoption is often $25,000.00. The Rollstone Foundation helps to supply the means by awarding grants to qualified adoptive parents to defray some of the costs.
Karole Kalin-Holmes will be running in the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA on October 13, 2013 in support of The Rollstone Foundation. Karole volunteered to Run For Rollstone in the Marathon, as well as organizing local fundraising events, in support of Janet and Don Longo of the Rollstone Foundation.
This will be Karole's third marathon and she hopes you will all join her in raising money for this very worthwhile organization.
