No one has ever heard the words Craig Westbrook and running in the same sentence without the word "police". Well, it is time to change that. I just recently turned 39 and am now smelling the scent of mortality. With two sweet kiddos and a wonderful wife at home, it is time to implement exercise into my routine. I can not think of a better entry into that world than to help raise money for therunforveterans.org.
I had read about this young inspiration a week ago and wanted to drive to Tuscaloosa and meet him. After a quick dismissal of thought, several days later I look out of office window and he runs right by. I jumped right at the opportunity to meet him and his colleagues. I am glad I did. I was very impressed with the drive of these young twenty somethings to raise awareness for the mental health and mental recovery of veterans.
Brendan has a real story to share and I believe in his vision. So off the couch I go. My goal is to learn to run and breathe at the same time for about a month or two. I then plan on hooking up the pop up and heading out to find the fellas. My intent will be to camp and run 3 to 5 days with Brendan to help raise money.
I am looking for friends to donate as much as they can for each mile I run. I will provide more details as they develop.
