I created this page in hopes of raising $500 in support of The Run for Veterans by the time I run a half marathon on November 10, 2013.
In case you're unfamiliar, on November 11, 2012, USMC veteran Sergeant Brendan O’Toole, along with a Documentary Production team lead by Joey Dwyer, set out on a 3,600 mile run across the United States of America in honor of the selfless men and women who have served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Run for Veteran's goal is to raise funds to support the United States Armed Forces veterans, combat veterans, disabled veterans, and their families.
All donations collected will be disbursed to 3 non-profit organizations focused on providing mental, physical, and social well being programs for veterans and their families. Give an Hour, Team Red White and Blue, and The USO are all nationally established organizations that can provide the immediate support needed by military service members facing numerous obstacles to overcome. The Run for Veterans’ grassroots effort has already inspired individuals, towns, cities, states, and the nation, to salute all veterans who have sacrificed their personal freedoms in order to preserve our American way of life.
I can honestly say, without reservations, that Brendan, Joey, and the entire Run for Veterans team have inspired me more than any other organization. Their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause are absolutely extraordinary and contagious. While I'm really excited but a little nervous to begin training for my first half marathon, it is truly crazy to think that Brendan and The Run for Vets are tackling half marathons more days than not!! Therefore, please donate to show your support for all of their hard work!!
