We are volunteers with The Sankofa Center, looking to help an organization we are vested in to become a sustainable organization that can grow and develop in order to impact more individuals.

What we would do with $50,000:
- New Van. The Sankofa Center's mobile outreach program van has been on it's last leg for two years now. With $20,000 we would be able to buy a new van that would allow us to make more visits to villages and schools as well as conduct more follow-up visits in order to take service-users to clinics to be treated for HIV.
Extend our scope of influence. It currently costs us around $70,000 to run the program year-round. With more money we would be able to reach more people and therefore create more lasting change. We would be able to buy more testing kits, visit more villages further away, and visit more schools. This expansion would allow us to create a more lasting change by reaching more people and bringing about more behavior changes.
- Create a larger volunteer site. With more money The Sankofa Center can finish it's new living quarters on the beach in Accra in order to allow more volunteers to attend the program at a time. More volunteers means working harder to create change, visiting more schools and villages, and creating more awareness.
- Develop a poverty module. There are many things The Sankofa Center has dreamed of doing with more time and resources. Your donations will allow The Sankofa Center to evaluate the program and make recommendations for more we can do as an organization. One of those directives would be to add a poverty module to our program in order to study the affect poverty in Ghana has over HIV/AIDS transmission, education, treatment, etc.
- As a small grassroots organization The Sankofa Center believes strongly in creating a lasting organization that is self-sustainable. Donations to The Sankofa Center are allowing us to allocate resources to building a sustainable organization.
