The Schools of Gerard Armand Joseph fundraiser
Organized by: Gerard Joseph
EVENT DATE Jul 31, 2014
We are raising $15,000 to continue with the repairs of the damage to the Schools of Gerard Armand Joseph endured during the devastating earthquake of 2010.
The schools have been operational in Port-au-Prince Haiti for over 54 years. This year there are 150 students completing their 2013 -2014 school year. Our goal is to get the school 100% operational to be able to accommodate triple the amount of students by October 1, 2014 for the beginning of the 2014 - 2015 school year.
After the earthquake the location was devastated as demonstrated in the pictures posted. Several walls fell, some of the foundation was severely damaged amongst other things but over the past 2 years, we have continued to make the necessary repairs while keeping the school operational to serve the community. We are looking for your help NOW to complete this goal.
Please look us up on Facebook to see the faces of the children whose lives you will be impacting.

The Schools of Gérard Armand Joseph is a private institution that was founded by Mr. Gérard Armand Joseph in September 1969 in Port-au-Prince. Located at Delmas 29, Street No. 8 J. Perez.
Recognized by the Ministry of Education in March 1975, it was recorded:
1. The Directorate of Secondary Education in No. 26, the 11/28/1974
2. The General Directorate of National Education No. 61, on the same date.
After the death of Founding Director in 1988, the school was for a number of years under the direction of Mrs. Devige Clermont. From 2003 to 2010 a partnership was formed with a group of teachers but after 7 years of operations under the aegis of a Board of Management, the School is again under the direction of Mrs. Devige Clermont.
School GAJ has always been devoted to the training of young and old alike. Its mission has always been to provide a solid education in primary, secondary, commercial and professional courses. However, the mission of the school does not stop with the academic training but offers a social club, a literary space called the Literary Salon Gerard Armand Joseph which meets every Sunday, as well as a school of dance and theatre.
It remains true that we maintain the standard of the school based on the ideal set by its founder, Mr. Gérard Armand Joseph.
