The Shirley Li Friendship Memorial
Organized by: Jeff Beeny
Shirley Li was my friend and a friend to many. In late 2014, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and passed away too soon in her 40s in February 2016.
Shirley Yunhong Li was born in rural China, moved to Guilin, China serving as a translator for dignitaries such as Bill and Hillary Clinton and then immigrated to the USA in the Fall of 1998 to earn her MBA in Finance at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 2001. After her MBA, Shirley worked in strategic financial roles at Fresenius Medical, Philips Healthcare and PerkinElmer for over fifteen years in the Boston area. She was a great human being and friend, but Shirley Li was also the epitome of the American Dream!
Shirley's hallmark on life was that she made friends with everyone everywhere she journeyed. Shirley was the nicest person that I have ever met and I am proud she was my friend.
I know that we will all see Shirley again someday, but she will be greatly missed and her work on this earth was not finished.
I only hope that I and her family/friends can carry on Shirley's legacy of friendship to all in her honor.
For her family whom she departs too soon, 100% of all donations will be sent directly to Shirley Li's immediate family (husband and her two sons) to help support them financially. Shirley was the financial provider for her entire family...her husband, her boys, her mother/father and her siblings in the USA and China. They could use all of the financial support that we can provide to them, the same way that Shirley selflessly provided to them for decades. All directed donation ideas are welcome, as well.
