I'm fundraising for my (first and only) girlfriend Shakira.
Though Shakira was in my class, I didn't really notice her until she "cut her hair", which I later found out was due to chemotherapy. See, she wore a wig for the first semester and she only stopped when she scraped the confidence show who she really is. She simply couldn't see her inner beauty through her skin and hair.
Lupus is an autoimmune disorder- her immune system fights bad bacteria and viruses as well as healthy bacteria, tissues, and organs. Lupus occurs in flares and any organ can be affected at any time. Her symptoms are triggered by the sun. So far, she hasn't had any vital organ affected, but is it worth the risk? She's 16. Nothing is impossible.
I'm fundraising to cure my girlfriend because her future could be my future, and I don't know what I would do if lupus were to affect her life fatally.
There is no minimum donation, and any amount you can provide will go a long way towards helping to find a cure for patients like Shakira. All proceeds are going to UW Seattle's (Shakira's) medical facility to fund research on a cure for her primary immune deficiency. Your donation is 100% tax deductible. If possible, please encourage a friend, relative, neighbor, or co-worker to support the organization by donating as well. If you’re on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, please feel free to spread the word. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
Please donate. Every dollar counts.
