The Start of Happily Ever After
Organized by: Jacob Montgomery
A few years ago in college, I met the most fun-loving, caring, passionate, and best sounding Broadway musical loving woman I could have ever dreamed for. Her name is Abbie. We've been together for some time, and we have been through it all: Distance, hardship, growing-up, love, loss, and mistakes. We started dating in college, and were together for about three months when she left the country for another three months to help small communities and perform charity work in Southeast Asia. During this time, I was working everyday to start paying off my student loans, and she had no way to communicate with me. I sent her a letter every single day she was gone for those three months, and we were eventually reunited. It was during that time I knew this was the one I wanted, and needed, to spend the rest of my life with. She makes me want to be a better person, she makes me want to be a better man, and she makes me want to help others and make this world a better place. I want to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me, and I want to be able to go all over this wide world with her and help people together. That is our dream and our happily ever after, and I'm asking for help to make that first step towards happily ever after something truly magical. I'm not a singer by any means, but her favorite song is a version of "Your Song" by Elton John, sung in the Broadway Musical "Moulin Rouge." With your help, I'd like to be able to sing her favorite song to her as the sun sets, tell her that she is my fairy tale and that I want to be her happily ever after, and ask her to marry me. I've included a photo of the ring I've picked out, it's elegant, flowing, and beautiful, like she is. On our first anniversary, she sang to me at a restaurant full of people, just to tell me how much she loves me, and I want to do the same for her. Taking her to a Broadway musical, singing to her before the show, and giving her the ring would be perfection in my mind. This amazing girl is who I want to be with. With her, I am completely myself. I don't have to hide feelings, frustrations, or pain. We laugh together, we cry together, and we love together. We can entertain each other for hours just by making silly faces at each other, but we can have deep and meaningful conversations that encourage the other to never stop learning and wanting to reach out to help others.
