THE STORY:

The TEECH (Transforming, Educating, & Empowering Children and Humanity) Foundation has provided recovery support services for thousands of people through the federally funded program, Access to Recovery (ATR). Many of our clients are now business owners or productively employed citizens.; many are youth (18-24), veterans, and ex-offenders. Our services are not provided near children, so anyone who meets 'funder' criteria are admitted into the program. Because of the gridlocked legislature in Illinois and the lack of a budget, TEECH programs are in danger of being shut down. TEECH provides $3000 - $6000 in client bus passes and other services each week. Clients were so committed to continuing services, they spearheaded a fundraiser in the community where professional musicians volunteered their time and talent and raised over $700. However, it will take considerably more money to continue to provide transportation in the form of bus passes and other services. Please continue to help people like David B. who has been reunited with his family and currently works for CTA, or Isaiah E. who was an alcoholic since age 15 who is now clean and sober and working for Florence Cleaning Company, or Barrett D. who considered himself both drug addicted and a rage-a-holic who had no problem taking what he wanted. He has since learned to listen more, not react, and control his temper; he is also gainfully employed. Help TEECH continue services to reduce relapse, violence in the community, and recidivism and help to increase clients who reunite with their families and continue to be contributing productive citizens. Give what you can...$1.00 and will help. May God continue to bless you. Dr. Linda Culberson Abington, Ph.D. President TEECH
