On Wednesday, February 8th at 8:00 PM, yours truly will join 599 other participants in a foot race up 86 flights (1,576 steps) to finish on the Observation Deck of New York’s most iconic building. For some reason, I felt that enlisting in this spectacle was a clever idea. At least one thing I know for sure─it’s a great opportunity to throw a fundraiser drive and help raise some funds for Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Only through donor support, can this non-profit organization provide a haven for cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, goats, and rabbits who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
If you feel so generous, a $15 donation divvies up to a pledge of less than one penny per each step of my ascent. I call that a bargain! But please don’t expect me to break any course records─I’ll be blissfully content just to reach the top and still remember my own name (and even happier to return to the ground without the assistance of a helicopter).
Thank you kindly for supporting the animal refugees and the incredibly compassionate team of individuals who painstakingly work to make Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary possible. One cannot help but be inspired by their devotion to animal advocacy and mission to promote kindness towards all living beings.
All the best,
