Yesterday I spoke with Mama Virginie of Heal Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo as she rode on the bus home from her office in Goma. I feared I might never hear these word from her:
“la guerre est finie, nous sommes en paix”
[The war is over, we now have peace.]
There was plenty of joy in her voice, certainly lots of hope, and although we shared a few good laughs, there was a tone of trepidation. By the end of the call, she had issued a plea for further assistance.

The 2013 holiday campaign for Exposing Hope supports the women of the Congo. The funds will repair and restock our Safe Houses and restart the associated training programs. With this work we are empowering hundreds of women to participate in the rebuilding of their society.
Join Exposing Hope's mission to support the women of the Congo as peace begins to flower.
To celebrate #GivingTuesday (an initiative to remind people of the importamce of giving during Thanksgiving) an anonymous donor has pledged to match all donations received over the Thanksgiving weekend up to $5000. Overall, we are aiming to raise a total of $20,000, between now and December 31.
