We just wanted to thank everyone for all the love and support to make this wonderful trip happen.  We had a wonderful fun filled week in the See More

THE STORY:

Many of you may know, but some of you reading this may not be aware of our current situation. We want to introduce ourselves. We are Daddy's three babies. We are his 9 year old son Cole (Cole-Dog) and his two daughters, 7 year old Adrianna (Addy/AddyBug) and 5 year old Reagan (Lil Bit). We sure do love our nicknames that daddy calls us...unless we are in trouble and then he uses our full name when he yells. We don't understand. Why do we have to learn about cancer to tell you about my daddy and his dream? Our daddy (Brett) has been battling cancer for over a year now. A little over a year ago he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but that is hard for us to remember, so we just call it the cancer. Daddy and Mommy (Sarah) say that the cancer started in his lymph nodes but, we don't even know where the are at in our bodies, but I guess we have them all over. After some kind of medicines, the stuff daddy calls the "nasty stuff they put in his body," doctors found that the cancer was in other places. They said sometimes, cancer can learn grow and when it does, it learns how to go to other places in his body and will make him even sicker. They kept giving him the medicine that makes him really sick and finally the cancer was shrinking and now they can't even see any cancer in his lymph nodes. I don't understand how daddy can still be sick because they said it is gone from the lymph nodes, but now it is in his brain, pancreas and kidney. Right before Christmas daddy sat down with each of us and told us what the doctors are telling him and how he can get better. He used a lot of big words, so stay with me as I try to explain it in my own words. Daddy says the doctors told him they could keep treating him with the "nasty stuff" but it won't help much. That was scary because I didn't understand what daddy meant by that. Daddy says the doctors have said that he will live for another 6 months to a year. I don't even really understand it all, all I know is that my daddy is getting sicker and sicker and that it is scaring me because I don't know what is going to happen. When Daddy and Mommy sat us down they said they were going to be doing a lot of things together as a family but wanted us to understand and not keep secrets, so that we can enjoy the time Daddy still has left to be here. That brings us to Daddy's dream which I don't understand why it is his dream but he wanted it to be about us. Daddy and Mommy are going to be taking us to Disney World in Orlando, FL. He said Disney is the perfect places to create memories. All we know is that we get to see Star Wars stuff, Princesses Elsa and Anna, and the Little Mermaid. So, Mommy and Daddy have been saving a lot of money and said we get to go in March when we are on Spring Break. That is why we are asking for help. While Mommy says that we have enough money to pay for a hotel room, tickets to Disney World and all of our food we don't have a whole lot of spending money. That is why we are asking for help. Daddy says it is hard to ask for help. Late at night I have heard him tell Mommy that he doesn't want anyone to feel sorry for him and that other people could use the money more than we can. We know that he is right but we still wanted to be able to have some spending money to help us when we go. We will get to buy t-shirts, hats and all kinds of cool stuff that will be attached to a great memory with Daddy if something happens and he ends up having to leave us for a while. So, if you have any extra money laying around or in the couch cushions, that is where we lose our money, do you think maybe you could send it to us? But we understand that sometimes people are unable to give money so we also would love to hear from all of our friends and family some words of encouragement or support. Daddy says he is going to fight until the very end and said that he believes God can make him better if it is meant to be. While we would give up all the money in the world and all the Disney Trips to have our Daddy with us forever, we also understand that God might need Daddy's help soon so he might have to go away for awhile. If you can find it in your hearts to send us some money we promise we will spend it very responsibly and will even post lots and lots of pictures from our trip. Thank you for letting us talk, for getting to tell you and letting you guys help Daddy's dream come true. He may not be Prince Charming or Prince Eric, but he is the best "King" we know. P.S. Daddy says he is a lot more handsome than any of those Disney Princes "any day of the week." We think so too.

Please spend it all in one magical place! Enjoy the trip; create the memories, and live like there is both no tomorrow and 1,502,627 of them. I've heard snippets of awesome stories and updates about your family from mutual friends for the past several years, and had fun meeting you many years ago. I had no idea you were fighting such a battle and I only wish I could add more to the piggy bank. There is no pity here--just a wish to help you all celebrate life to the fullest. Best wishes. 3 years ago
