EVENT DATE: Jul 20, 2016
We are a non-profit organization. Our volunteers go village to village in third world countries spreading knowledge about sanitary habits. In third world countries, about 50% people die of poor sanitation and lack of sanitation infrastructure. We educate kids and adults about their personal cleanliness. In a statement signed by the Chief of Communication of UNICEF, Doune Porter, children in the first few months of their lives are exposed to numerous vulnerable and water-borne diseases which are transmitted to their body through unwashed hands. UNICEF also stated that ‘Over 800 of the approximately 1400 children die due to diarrhoea each day which can be attributed to inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene. Infants in their first months of life are more prone to diseases transmitted as a result of unwashed hands’ A group of 4 volunteers will be going to nearby villages to Abuja (the national Capital) to spread knowledge about proper sanitation and personal cleanliness among kids and adults.
