BENEFITING: THINK PINK ROCKS
ORGANIZER: THINK PINK ROCKS
EVENT: NYC Half 2014
EVENT DATE: Mar 16, 2014
Welcome to my Think Pink Rocks fundraising page!
On March 16, 2014, I will be running my first half marathon to help raise funding for breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. As a medical student, I had the privilege of working at MSKCC earlier this year for one of my clinical preceptorships, and I am very excited to be running the NYC Half Marathon in support of the innovative cancer research that takes place at MSKCC. My goal is to raise $1,000 and I would be honored to have your support in helping me raise funding for breast cancer research through Think Pink Rocks.
Think Pink Rocks is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for screening, treatment and research.
Did you know:
• A woman's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer is greatly increased if she carries the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation (Breast Cancer gene mutation).
• Men with these mutations also have an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer. Our team will raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
All money raised for Think Pink Rocks from the NYC Half 2014 will benefit breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Some members of our team have a direct connection to breast cancer, but we also have many team members who are running or walking simply because they want to support a great cause.
Think Pink Rocks is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Contributions to Think Pink Rocks are tax deductable to the extent allowable by law.
