Think Pink update - THANK YOU! re 2016 NYC Half Marathon
March 20, 2016
Hi friends, and thank you so much for taking a moment to read this:
For the second year, I will be running with team "THINK PINK ROCKS" in the NYC half marathon, taking place this year on Sunday, March 20th. I am running this year in honor of three of my girlfriends - moms and business women - who over the past year have fought back the grips of cancer with grace, strength and unfailing humor. And I am running in honor of my step sister Alicia, a pediatric cancer survivor who never ceases to inspire me.
Please take a moment to donate to my run and any amount of donation is welcome. My goal is to raise $2500. Thank you for helping me to achieve this goal and for making my run with Think Pink as meaningful as it can be.
You can donate directly through my fundraising page: https://www.crowdrise.com/fundraiser/edit/thinkpinkrocks2016ny/heathermount
Think Pink Rocks is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for screening, treatment and research. Contributions to Think Pink Rocks are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
The money raised for Think Pink Rocks from the NYC Half 2016 will benefit breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where Think Pink Rocks has established a dedicated breast cancer research fund, as well as at the Breast Oncology Center at the University of Michigan, in addition to providing funding for treatment.
Did you know:
• A woman's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer is greatly increased if she carries the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation (Breast Cancer gene mutation).
• Men with these mutations also have an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer. Our team will raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
Your contribution is incredibly appreciated and thank you for your support. See you on race day, and please cross your fingers for nice weather!
