My mother, Barbara Olive Groves, died after four years of fighting breast cancer . She was initially diagnosed in 1992 and after a single masectomy, she thought she had beat it. A year and a half later after she found out that it had metastasized and spread throughout her entire body. She did chemo and radation and fought for her life for two and a half years until she lost her battle with breast cancer in May of 1996. She was a devoted single mother who worked tirelessly to provide a good life for me, her only son. Watching her face this disease and the horrible things it did to her body was unbearable and something needs to be done to find a cure so no one has to go though what she did. This cause is very important to me and holds a very special place in my heart and I am excited to run for such a great cause. I would appreciate any donation you are able to give towards this worthy cause.
