THE STORY:
Breast cancer stinks. I hate that I have seen so many friends and family suffer from it. I hate that it has taken one of my favorite people in the world. I hate that it hangs around, always lurking, threatening to wreak havoc on someone else's life. I am tired of it. I'd really like to kick its ass.
This year, I am running the NYC Half Marathon in honor of Leigh, Katie, Dolores, Mavis, and the countless others who have fought this disease. My goal is to raise at least $1,000 to go towards Think Pink Rocks, a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for screening, treatment and research.
The money raised for Think Pink Rocks from the NYC Half 2016 will benefit breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where Think Pink Rocks has established a dedicated breast cancer research fund, as well as at the Breast Oncology Center at the University of Michigan, in additon to providing funding for treatment.
Will you help? Remember every dollar counts. Please give. And thanks. #Fuckbreastcancer
