BENEFITING: PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE OF LOS ANGELES
Early childhood education can change the trajectory of a child's life.
But do ALL children have access to the level of quality it takes to really make a difference?
Children in low-income communities often attend early childhood programs that have limited resources to foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking – the very skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.
The Pedagogical Institute of Los Angeles, with the support of the Annenberg Foundation, is piloting a teacher mentoring program throughout Los Angeles in low-income, public transitional kindergartens.
This initiative, the Collaborative Teacher Project, offers ongoing, individualized support for early childhood educators in underserved communities where professional development funds are scarce. Working side by side with teachers in their classrooms, we transform environments and inspire teachers to respond to the natural curiosity of children.
Please join The Pedagogical Institute of Los Angeles in raising funds for The Collaborative Teaching Project: A mentoring program for teachers in underserved communities.
Did you know that supporting early childhood education is one of the few social investments with a positive financial and social return?
FACT High-quality preschool programs show sustained benefits including higher school performance, lower rates of special education use, reduced grade repetition, and higher rates of high school graduation.*
FACT Credible estimates of the economic return for full-scale high-quality preschool programs range from about $2 to $4 for every $1 invested.*
FACT Children across the income spectrum benefit from high-quality preschool, but the impacts tend to be larger for more disadvantaged children.*
Your donation will help furnish a classroom, provide a mentor and make a difference in a low-income public school in Los Angeles.
