BENEFITING: Immune Deficiency Foundation
EVENT DATE: Jun 27, 2013
Vincent was diagnosed with CVID in 2011 after many years of confusion regarding his diagnosis. This is very common with immune deficiency patients. The Think Zebra! campaign is run through the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) and is used to raise funds and promote awareness of primary immunodeficiency diseases. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause that affects us everyday!
In medical school, many doctors learn the saying, "when you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras" and are taught to focus on the likeliest possibilities when making a diagnosis, not the unusual ones. However, sometimes physicians need to look for a zebra. Patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases are the zebras of the medical world. So IDF says THINK ZEBRA!
