We are a team of six Mount Vernon Nazarene University graduates, with a passion for helping others. Coming from a school that prides itself in creating community, we have a desire to serve a community in order to feel like they belong and have a sense of purpose within the Kingdom of God.
In the fall of 2015, Paul Harding, attended a seminar about church planning, he created an idea called the Coffee House Initiative. This idea was to form a coffee shop with a relational ministry approach that would function as a church. Paul met with Chad Churrent and told him about this dream. Chad, being the Refocus and NewStart Coordinator on the Southwest Ohio District for the Church of the Nazarene, explained that he can help make this dream a reality. Paul began to work hard to get a team together from all different majors and talents. As a team, we are working hard to make this a reality in order to help others in the Norwood and Cincinnati community. Rob Westerman the pastor at SNC Norwood, blessed us with open space for our coffee shop. We have been blessed again by having a house here in Norwood, two blocks away from our space.
The money that will be raised will help us with the start-up costs of furnishing and building the coffee shop. Our goal is to be a business that is Kingdom-centered and can invest back into the community. As we grow to know the community, we will minister to our neighbors and invest in whatever ways we can in order to help meet needs around us and to develop a new expression of Church in this way.
We would be so thankful and excited for you to partner with us as Brick Coffee Company as we seek to serve the community around us through the love of Jesus.
