This is My Prayer: Ashma Shahi
Organized by: Ashley Murphree
While I made it out of Nepal’s earthquake alive, my dear friend and sister, Ashma is still stuck in ruins, home and business collapsed. We have an opportunity to get Ashma and her family out to a safe new home with employment in Portugal in the next month or two, but as of right now, the opportunity is just out of our reach with a cost of $10k-$13k due as soon as the visa documents are ready – any day now !!! up to 2 months from now if we are lucky.
This opportunity is EXTREMELY important because if we are successful they can get their permanent residency for themselves and for their two kids Astha and Sujal (who call me Aunt Ashley) ! They would have opportunity for work and for school whereas in Nepal the only future left for them is a struggle to survive. They have family living in Portugal who will assist in their transition. I am taking a leap of faith and sending as much of my personal savings as possible, but I ask for any help we can get. This is my prayer.
I am collecting funds here but also through the sale of jewelry I have made by hand. At a loss for how to manifest this blessing for Ashma, I felt compelled to gather the objects of beauty that I have created, put them out into the world and see what comes back. Please take a look at my site and share with your friends. I will be adding more items so check back often in the next few months!
