Thom Harrow was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. He discovered boxing when he could not avoid injuries from running yet needed an aerobic activity. Boxing seemed the perfect fit.
Thom enjoys the sport as well as the wonderful people he meets in it. According to Thom, individuals associated with boxing have a good sense of ethics and they show respect to anyone willing to work at the sport. Thom enjoyed watching the Golden Gloves as he attended college.
Singer and songwriter Paul Simon's line “Still crazy after all these years” motivates Thom as he accepts new challenges while never slowing down or seeming to grow old.
Thom's mother is his personal hero. She lived during an era that Thom believes produced the greatest generation; she was born at the end of WWI, and lived through the Second World War and the Great Depression. She raised three sons in a two bedroom apartment in addition to working at a part-time job. She provided a great life for her children as she instilled important values, including charity and compassion along with modeling a strong work ethic.
Thom’s greatest accomplishments include raising his two successful sons and helping raise his stepson and stepdaughter. Thom, an entrepreneur, built his company, which employs sixty people whom he has tremendous gratitude and respect for.
Thom is a fighter for life as he successfully overcame prostate cancer in 2002. Today, Thom is fortunate for his good health as he enters the ring, and fights for charity, supporting those in need.
He currently resides in New Canaan, Connecticut.
