Thoroughbred Retirement of Tampa is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to Thoroughbred aftercare - safe retirement from racing, rehabilitation, retraining and re-homing - for Tampa's racing Thoroughbreds.
Founded in 2003 as Thunder Bay Horse Rescue, it changed its name in May 2009. Since that time, they have taken fifty-seven (57) horses into the program. Forty-five (45) have been re-homed and five (5) remain in the program. All funds raised will go to pay for the care of the horses currently in the program.
