BENEFITING: THORP AREA SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER
The Thorp Area Senior Citizen Center is in dire need of a new roof. And like many small, local non-profits, funds are tight and they simply do not have the money necessary to complete the repairs. Can you help? The Thorp Area Senior Citizen Center opened its doors on April 23, 1981. For over 34 years, the Senior Center has played an important role in the community. It serves as a place for Seniors to meet, play cards and games, and socialize. It's also a great facility to rent for parties and reunions. Today, however, it serves several even more critical missions. Seniors can purchase a nutritious, well-balanced meal there 5 days a weeks for a very modest fee, Clark County's Meals on Wheels program operates out of the facility, and the Thorp Food Pantry is housed in the basement. Many lives are positively enhanced by the operations within the Senior Center each week. Please help make sure that this important institution can get the needed repairs to its roof, so it can continue to positively enhance the health, safety, and welfare of the Thorp community for many years to come!
