BENEFITING: SAVING ONE LIFE
We have two precious kittens in need of major surgery.
As a rescue, we are prepared financially for unplanned expenses (such as extensive lab work, x-rays, ultrasound) however we cannot be prepared for major medical. There is no way to know for sure if and when an animal that enteres the rescue will need extreme care. Here's the breakdown:
Felis: Imagine having an eyelash in your eye every day, all day and there's nothing you can do about that. Well, that's exactly what Felis endures. He has eyelis agensis which in simple terms means he's missing part of his eyelids causing his actual hair (fur) from his face to be able to constantly rub against his eyes. This causes constant discomfort and increases risk for infection, etc. The way to relieve this never-ending pain is to do surgery which must specialist since it involves such a delicate part of the anatomy. The total cost with our rescue discount is $1,563.50 (see attached estimate)
ButterScotch: This love bug wants to play so badly but he can basically take a few steps and sit down. You see, he hasa grade 4 luxating patellas and bowed tibias. This means that his knee caps aren't doing the right thing causing him to walk awkwardly and uncomfortably. He is merely four months old and his mobility is severeally limited. Although he has adapted well, living like this long term is not an option. He needs surgery to deepen the groove in his knee cap and stabilize his patellas with hardware. By doing so, he will be able to run, jump and play like all the other kitties and with no discomfort. This is not a common ailment in kitties and requires an orthopedic surgeon to perform the operation. The total cost for the surgery with rescue discount is $3,749.99 (see estimate)
