This program is instrumental in allowing students; in the South Redford School District, Redford Township, MI; that desire advanced Dance training obtain instruction at little to no cost to to the families. While not restricted to students from low income families, many of our Dancers are in that situation. THSDC is offering Dancers the opportunity to obtain Professional Dance Training and pursue their Performing Arts goals. While housed within Thurston High School, this is not a South Redford School District funded program.
Ms. Meghan Farrell-Hicks is the Director of the Dance Company. She was so impressed by the talent of Thurston's students and their desire to achieve their dreams; she created a program to help enhance their performance skills, promote self and social awareness, and focus on maintaining positive standards within self confidence. In addition, she provides audition skills and college prep workshops to help obtain scholarships.
