About 10 years ago I brought my aunt Sara and mother to live with me and my family. I have 3 children as well. You see about 18 before their house burned down in tampa from an electrical fire. They were lucky to escape with their lives . they went to a shelter and bounced around until they found a duplex they subleased under rent control. Til finally the owner had no choice but to sell when the housing market took its toll. So my mom and aunt were going to be on the street. There was no place they could rent for what they were paying. $355.00 a month! So of course I offered my home. That's what family is for. Sara had the beginnings of Alzheimer's but was still pretty coherent. The adjustment for us with 2 seniors and 3 kiddos was not an easy one. Sara doesn't have any support and her and my mother are sisters and therefore a package deal. It has been very rewarding and fulfilling in a lot of ways but very difficult in other ways and especially financially. they received a menial social security check. I'm showing my kids that we don't throw away our elderly and that we stick together with family. right now fast-forward 10 years her Alzheimer's was at the point where I was doing her a disservice by keeping her in my home. I've placed her in a nursing home that I painstakingly sought for months to make sure she was well cared for. the financial burden over the last 10 years is finally catching up to me. I'm asking our friends and family to help me help Tia Sara stay in this amazing facility and be comfortable in her last years. if you'd like to make a a donation here or straight to the nursing home directly please contact me seperate from this opportunity. I can give you all the details or just click below and give what you can. Whatever is donated I will be putting it on reserves until I can make arrangements for memorial and burial services. I have to be prepared for whatever God wills. She also needs new dentures as they are pureeing her food now until she is able to get them. My beautiful Aunt Sarah turned 89 this year but her health is declining and I want to continue to care for her. We love her so much
