Tieg's Foundation Suicide Prevention Walk and Picnic
EVENT DATE: Sep 15, 2013
Join us for Tieg's Foundation's 2013 Suicide Prevention Walk and Picnic in honor of friends and loved ones lost to suicide and to raise money for suicide awareness and prevention at CU Boulder. This year, we’ll be hiking the Mesa Trail from the Eldorado Springs trailhead to Chautauqua, in the shadow of the world-famous Flatirons. At Chautauqua we’ll enjoy a picnic, with free food, beer, refreshments and games. This event is open to the public and we welcome those who have lost someone to suicide or who just want to support this important cause.
7:30AM – 8:00:AM: Meet at the Eldorado Springs trailhead of the Mesa Trail. (Or, you can start at Chautauqua and hike any distance you like at your own pace!)
8:00AM – 11:00AM: Hike the Mesa Trail at your own pace (approximately 6.7 miles).
11:00AM - 2:00PM: Picnic at Chautauqua (at the picnic shelter behind the auditorium)
Please note: You do not need to participate in the hike to join us for the picnic. This event is free but a $25 per person donation to Tieg’s Foundation is be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will be donated to the suicide prevention programs at CU Boulder.
The 6.7-mile Mesa Trail is a moderately difficult walk over rolling terrain. Please bring water, wear comfortable shoes and check the weather conditions before heading out and dress accordingly. Dogs are allowed offleash on the trail, provided they have a Boulder County Open Space green tag.
