Aldo Leopold Elementary serves students in both Madison and Fitchburg, Wisconsin. With more than 700 students, it is the largest of the Madison Metropolitan School District’s 32 elementary schools. Seventy-five percent of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
Each year the Leopold Parent Faculty Organization (PFO) holds a fun run for kids to support our school and promote health and fitness in a fun and positive way. The Timber Wolf Trample is a one-mile fun run/walk for children pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Students who participate in the Timber Wolf Trample collect modest contributions from family, friends and neighbors. In addition, local businesses and organizations offer generous contributions in the form of sponsorships.
100% of the funds raised go directly back to the school. In the past year, we were able to purcahse approximately 70 iPads for our 700 students, headphones for our laptop computers, books for classroom libraries, and new furniture and rugs for our front entry. We look forward to continuing our classroom support with a literacy program and additional technology support in 2014-15.
