Help us raise $10,000 in 2017 to benefit the DDI Captial Campaign!
During the past three years, Timmy's Team has raised more than $40,000 to benefit organizations supporting those with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Timmy's Team was formed in 2014 to raise money for Autism Speaks as I trained for the NYC Marathon, my first. Based on the overwhelming generosity and support of family and friends, this year I will be running the Chicago Marathon, my fifth marathon as a charity runner. I couldn't imagine training or racing a marathon without the support of Timmy's Team.
The team honors my now 15 year old son Timothy who was born with Down Syndrome and later diagnosed with autism. With your help, we'll raise another $10,000 and reach a cumulative total of more than $50,000.
Proceeds go directly to the DDI Capital Campaign to address urgently needed repairs and enhancements to our 50+ year old school buildings.
The $20,000 dollars raised by Timmy's Team last year is already being put to work at DDI and with your generous support, we'll raise another $10,000 this year. DDI is Long Island's leading provider of services for the developmentally disabled. We have several aging buildings hosting hundreds of children and adults that desperately need capital improvements.
Our relationship with DDI began shortly after Timmy was born. We started with Early Intervention services (when he was three months old), moved onto the preschool program and for the past nine years, DDI staff have come to our home to work with Tim for 90 minutes after school.
This is my final year serving as Chairperson of the DDI Board as I will be leaving the DDI board due to term limits. Anything you can contribute will make a difference in the lives of many of the developmentally disabled right here on Long Island.
On behalf of my family, thank you to those of you who have supported Timmy's Team these past three years and welcome to those joining for the first time.
