THE STORY:

Tim "The Major" Patriquin spent 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and retired as a Major; hence the nickname. He ranks his service to his country among his greatest accomplishments, rightfully so.

Patriquin got into the boxing game rather recently back in January of 2012 when he was training for a charity fight in Toronto called: Fight for the Girls which supports breast cancer research, something particularly relevant to Tim and his family considering his mother is a two time breast cancer survivor.

While he may have gotten into the ring later in life, age is just a number for Tim who lives by the motto, 'I may get older, but I will never get old'. His pugilistic role model's include Manny Pacquiao and Bernard Hopkins. Tim's drive to make a difference and succeed in everything he does keeps him focused during training.

His career in the Armed Forces shows that giving back is a crucially important part of his life. As such, every year Tim chooses a different charity that he believes in to support. Those most close to his heart are those which provide assistance to military families and veterans.
