Tina's Fight with rare Genetic Defect of Pancrease
Organized by: Tina Redington
First if all, I have a very strong faith in God. I believe God has sent me to This fundraising page. So please pray to God about donating to me. If your lead to donating please do. Back a year ago I was admitted to hospital in critical condition to fund out I was having a pancreatic attack. My kidney was shutting down(FYI, I only have one kidney that is only working at 48%), my potassium was critical, BP was very low, liver enzymes were high, my enzymes for pancrease were off the wall and was sepsis. Through all this I have been admitted into the hospital six additional times with the same symptoms. There is no cure for this. This disease can be fatal. During this process of finding answers I had GENETIC testing done which discovered I have a rare genetic defect that is called CFTR. I've had testing done to make sure nothing else was going on. They were clean. So my GI specialist couldn't treat me here in my town so I was directed to Pittsburgh, PA , to the genetic specialist there. So there was more testing to be done, which has been done. I have found out I have more testing that needs to be done. I have to have two different endoscopy ultrasounds to R/O Pancreatitic cancer and what effect this GENETIC defect has done to my pancrease, liver and my biliary ducts. Because this is a rare genetic defect no one in my area can treat me so I have to travel to get proper treatment. So my choices are back to Pittsburgh, PA, NYC or Boston. So I have to get to one of these places for this disease can be fatal to me. I don't have the finances to get there for gas, lodging and for the medical Bill costs because this is out of Network and it only covers at fifty percent. I have medical bills i can't pay now and the bills are going to continue to rise. I have not worked in a year and a half, so no income and my husband is working two jobs to help with cost of living bills. So as you can see this has taken a devastating toll on us financially, emotionally and mentally. So if you feel in your heart to donate to the cause, please do and it is very much appreciated. Please keep me in your prayers that God will direct me in the right direction.
