TINY TUCKER'S FIGHT
Organized by: Kimberly Price Astringer
Tiny Tucker was found as a stray on the streets of Philadelphia terrified, emaciated and with his collar embedded in his neck shortly after New Year's. We pulled him out of the shelter immediately after they removed his embedded collar and the following day he had surgery to clean and close the wound on his neck. Tucker recovered beautifully from his surgery and with a lot of patients and love in his foster home started to slowly gain weight, trust humans and come out of his shell. We were all so thrilled with his progress! Then, this morning, Tucker started vomitting, lost his appetite, shortly thereafter came the bloody diarrhea and lethargy! We have seen this exact scenario a little over a month ago with another one of our dogs, Lion, so we knew how urgent Tucker's situation was! He was rushed to the Emergency Vet where we were told that he was in critical condition! He has been admitted to the ICU where he will continue to battle this awful gastroenteritis that has consumed his little body! The vet bills are estimated to be between $3000-4000. Tiny Paws is a small rescue that does all we can for the dogs in our care, but we rely on donations and we are in dire need now in order for us to save Tucker! He is currently undergoing a slew of tests including bloodwork, X-rays and an ultrasound. Tucker is on a warming pad, receiving IV fluids, 2 different IV antibiotics and being monitored around the clock by the ICU Vet staff. Please consider donating to help us save tiny Tucker. This poor baby has been through so much already and deserves a chance to be a healthy and happy dog again!!
