THE STORY:

Tiny But Mighty Fund wrote -

The Tiny But Mighty Fund was created to celebrate the unbreakable bonds between animals and their companions, while also raising awareness and funding for animal welfare and rescue groups in the Middle Tennessee community.

The fund that is managed by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee honors the spirit of Chico, a miniature Chihuahua that passed away in 2013 from congestive heart failure, and is named for the inspiration he provided his guardian, and to serve as a reminder that even the tiniest acts of kindness can make a mighty big difference. Join us in the 3rd Annual Tiny But Mighty Fundraiser by considering making a donation, creating a fundraiser team, or by contacting us at tinybutmightyfund@gmail.com if your company is interested in offering a corporate gift.

Between the first two years, we were able to raise over $35,000 for animals in need.

"Nashville Humane Association is committed to the mission of finding responsible homes for animals, controlling pet overpopulation, and promoting the humane treatment of animals. We are grateful for Tiny But Mighty Fund’s HUGE support to our mission and their continued support helping homeless animals within the community. We look forward to our continued partnership and are extremely excited about their upcoming fundraiser." - Joy Beach, Executive Director of Nashville Humane Association

Our goal for 2015 is to raise $10,000 to benefit Nashville Humane Association!

We are also accepting nominations for the second recipient of the Chico Award. This award will recognize an outstanding individual who contributes to to the welfare, brings awareness, assists in the prevention of animal cruelty, and/or raises funds for animals in our community. The honoree will be announced on January 18th and will be given an award and an opportunity to donate $1000 of the funds that we raise from the Tiny But Mighty Fundraiser to an animal welfare/rights 501c3 organization of their choice. Our inaugural recipient for 2015 is Mayor Megan Barry who selected Bonaparte's Retreat as the recipient of a Tiny But Mighty grant.

"Pet adoption not only saves the lives of dogs and cats, but also helps to enrich the lives of those who adopt. As the parent of two rescue dogs, Hank and Boris, I’m extraordinarily grateful for the efforts of the Tiny But Mighty Fund to help find loving homes for dogs throughout Nashville.” - Megan Barry, Mayor of Nashville

"Bonaparte’s Retreat is honored to receive this generous donation from the Tiny But Mighty Fund. And, we are grateful that Chico Award recipient Mayor Megan Barry selected us as the beneficiary. Bonaparte’s Retreat began in memory of my own rescued dog, Bonaparte. That makes us kindred spirits with Marcia Masulla and her “Tiny But Mighty” Chico. I believe that animals transform lives. To honor Bonaparte, Chico, and all the rescued animals who are transforming lives every day, we will continue our work to find loving and forever homes for shelter dogs."Emmylou Harris, Founder of Bonaparte's Retreat

For all new #tinybutmighty teams who raise $250 or more during the fundraising period, we will will reward you with an "Official Muttshot" photoshoot with Claudia Kay Photo. (photoshoot to be scheduled by TBM after the campaign ends)

Thank you for your consideration to support the Tiny But Mighty Fund where even the tiniest acts of kindness can certainly make a mighty big difference. #tinybutmighty
