No one expects a 3 year old to get cancer, yet, Titus was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on March 1st, 2012 & has fought hard since!
Titus Beeler was born March 27th, 2008 at 3:01 in the afternoon. He was 9 lbs 6 ounces, and 21 inches long, and absolutely one of the cutest babies ever! He has been such a blessing to his family and is a wonderful little brother and friend to his big sister Aubriana and a great big brother to his baby sister Aurora. Unfortunately, on March 1st of 2012, just 26 days shy of his fourth birthday, Titus was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Thus began his (and his family's) cancer fighting journey / marathon.
He began with 8 long months of weekly chemotherapy treatments which consisted of steroids, many different IV chemos, chemos injected into his spine, and at home oral chemo. He began long term maintenance treatment in November 2012 and is expected to be off treatment May of 2015. Maintenance therapy consists of daily oral chemo, a weekly dose of oral chemo. He receives chemo into his spinal space, IV chemo, and steroids every 12 weeks. There is still a long road ahead!
As his mom's co-worker, I am training for and plan to run my first marathon, the 2014 Chicago Marathon on October 12, 2014. I am doing this in Titus' honor and for his and his family's benefit. Any help you can offer to "Titus' Marathon" will be greatly appreciated!
