The Story

Team Move For Hunger invites you to join in the fight against hunger and food waste with our United States Air Force! We’re excited to have entries available to the Air Force Marathon and 1/2 Marathon and we’re looking for some Team members to help us turn miles into meals! This long standing and well respected race is a must for seasoned marathoners and half marathoners. Located in Dayton, Ohio, the course winds through Wright-Patterson Air Force Base with a jet fly over to kick off the start. Racers fly past historical aviation sites such as the National Museum of the United States Air Force and the Wright Brothers National Monument. This relatively flat course has been named one of the best 15 fall marathons in the U.S.

In Montgomery County, 18% of residents need help putting food on the table. In addition, about 35 million tons of food waste reach landfills and incinerators each year in the United States.* How can you help to make sure that meals make it to the table instead of the trash can? By joining Team Move For Hunger at the Air Force Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, your fundraising donations enable Move For Hunger to continue its’ life saving services by delivering much needed food to our local food banks.

WHAT DO MY DONATIONS DO?

By becoming a member of Team Move For Hunger, your fundraising donations go to keep our nation’s food banks stocked and meals on the table. Our network of relocation industry specialists help to reduce food waste and deliver much needed food to our local food banks when people are moving. With 49 million Americans that struggle with hunger, your help is needed more than ever. And since 96% of every dollar donated going back to our hunger relief and food rescue programs, you can be assured that your miles are turned into meals for those in need. In the last six years, our network of movers, realtors and corporate housing providers have delivered over 6 million pounds of food – let’s keep it moving!

FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS:

Full Marathon – $600

Half Marathon – $400

Air Force Marathon & 1/2 Marathon Team members receive:

• Guaranteed Paid Entry

• Team Move For Hunger technical tee shirt OR tank top

• Fundraising and Training help from dedicated endurance coach

• Personal online fundraising page

• Bi-monthly e-newsletters complete with fundraising and training tips, inspiration and hunger education

• The opportunity to turn your miles into meals!

WHAT IF DON’T RAISE THE MINIMUM?

Due to the enormous popularity of this event, we require a credit card number to secure a spot on the Team. If the minimum is not raised by the fundraising deadline of September 16th, the remaining balance will be charged to the card, securing your spot.
