Todd Boatman Medical and Living Expenses
Organized by: Friends of Todd's
Todd is one of the most selfless people a person could ever meet. In the years I have known him I have seen him bend over backwards to help friends and strangers alike. Whether he was opening his home to recovering addicts, helping people to gain employment, lending money out for people to get by on, or most importantly just being there as a friend. To put it quite simply: Todd is one of those who will do anything for someone regardless how it may affect him. But, Today Todd needs our help!!
On July 25, Todd was involved in a major vehicle accident while returning home from work. He started to feel nauseous nd dizzy, and passed out while driving. The semi truck Todd was driving left the road, rolled over ripping the cab from the frame, finally coming to a stop in the woods. Todd was trapped in the cab for over an hour with a broken back (at L2.) As a result of this accident Todd has been left partially paralyzed from the waist down. The doctors say he has a good chance of regaining movement in his legs but will have to go thru intensive physical therapy.
The real problem is that he doesn't have medical insurance. He has been denied workman's comp, and Medicaid has denied him because he has made too much money in the past three months, so no long term rehabilitation center will take him. He has applied for disability, but it can take a long time to get approved. His employer only called to find out where the truck was towed, and since they found out, they haven't offered any support or assistance. He resides in Texas, but can't get back there. They hospital had planned on releasing him to a rehabilitation center in Louisville, where he has family. But since he was denied medicaid, no one will take him in. So the hospital is releasing him into the great unknown, without a wheel chair, without a proper place to go.
As you can imagine Todd needs our help to assist with medical and living expenses while he works to regain his ability to walk. As we all know, regardless of what happens in life, our financial commitments do not stop and unfortunately for Todd; his expenses are mounting.
So we are calling on everyone to help out this man. He needs a little of what he has given over the years. Let's do our part to help a man, who I can guarantee, would be there if you were in need, your contribution is greatly appreciated and please keep our friend Todd and his family in your prayers for a quick and full recovery.
