1. Collect new soccer balls at youth soccer tournaments in the US;
2. Distribute the soccer balls to charitable organizations with a youth sports component who cannot afford to buy their own new equipment, in the US and abroad;
3. Provide American youth soccer tournaments an opportunity to have a soccer-related, service component to their tournaments.
Since 2006, Todo El Mundo has collected over 300 new soccer balls for distribution to charitable organization in Kenya, Ghana, and Guatemala. The organizations include Kakamega Orphans Care Center in Kakamega, Kenya, and Safe Passage in Guatemala City.
We are trying to expand our collection efforts beyond Maine to New England and the Northeast, and to identify more recipient organizations. Establishing these contacts, developing the collections system, and paying for shipping and other materials are some of the expenses. We have a successful model, so we are trying to raise funds to expand the scope of our operations.
