THE STORY:

I am delighted to find this crowd funding website. Where you can steer the passion in you into the hearts of great minds that can make it happen! My keen interest is to put smiles in the faces of people, especially women and their children, on whose faces poverty and hunger are always depicted. These agonizing situations have stolen the smiles of their faces, but are hopeful to learn to smile again if we help! Couple years back, I had gone for a church activity, which had two sessions. After the first session, We had a break time. I did not want to lose my spot. So I turned to the lady by my side, who did not show any signs of moving. Maim, I said " are you staying?" She replied ... Yes. I continued, could you please preserve my spot while I go get some stuff from my home. I live nearby I said. With a flat-face she replied. "Ok, you can go, I'll be here, I do not have any home to go to." Right there I knew I had a passion, a burden to alleviate anyone in similar situation. On coming back, I had some money and clothing wrapped for her, of which I gave someone to give her at the end of the church program. The gifts are anonymous I told the bearer. After some days the lady saw me in church and was thanking me. She said " I received some gifts from a lady who said someone who did not want to be made known asked me to give these gifts to you." And my mind tells me it was you. I mirrored the smiles on her face, smiled, and just said "we thank God." Now this was the story, the encounter, that allowed me to weigh in on the necessity: Why everyone should have a 'roof' over their head. You will agree with me that this will be far-fetched when provisions are not in place to sustain the homes- In terms of being consistent in paying for their rent and utilities. To avert the likelihood of their being homeless again. This we intend to achieve by providing a sort of micro-credit loan to enable these local women engage in any trade of their interest. They shall have the opportunity to learn a skill. While for some with no basic education, it will be a dream come true. This will be achieved by setting up an Adult literacy programs or given the benefit of being tutored in basic education. The "ask" for this fundraising is a $5000 USD. We are hopeful that this proposed amount will help meet the immediate needs of 4-6 women, or as the case may be. However, caution will be applied in the disbursement of the funds. Again, Prioritization and proper evaluation shall also be employed. You can be part of it, or even champion it by your goodwill donations, which will be used as described. This project will partner with CRACO , a nonprofit /humanitarian organization, registered in Nigeria. Here is a link to the website: http://www.cracong.org/. We (Donors) will receive a link , to view and know the actual beneficiaries through the organization's website or via personal emails through the president and founder, Mr. Joseph Igwe , an attorney based in one of the local areas in Lagos Nigeria. For over 7 years, the organization have worked closely with women and children in ensuring safety and promoting sustenance. I am privileged to be a member, as one of the Board of Trustees till date. And over these years, we have mapped out ways to source these local women, who should benefit. Like I mentioned earlier, we shall evaluate and prioritize! Presently, I am a Doctoral Student at The American College of Education. I am committed to this project, and employ you to be part of it. We can be in this together! we can make it happen. ! God bless you as you 'seed' your donations. Thank you for the time you have committed in reading and listening to my story.
