BENEFITING: CAMP SUNSHINE AT SEBAGO LAKE
Tomm is participating in the 'Empire State Building Run-Up' with the goal of raising money and awareness for Camp Sunshine.
Camp Sunshine is a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families.
The Event: Around 400 endurance athletes from around the world will sprint up the 1,576 stairs to the top of New York's most iconic building. Tomm will be very tired.
Specifics on Camp Sunshine: The families who come to Camp Sunshine have children diagnosed with cancer, hematologic conditions, renal disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and who have undergone solid organ transplantation. They attend illness-specific sessions of varying lengths where they have the opportunity to solidify and renew their relationships while meeting others facing similar challenges. Bereavement programming is also provided for families who have lost a child to the illnesses served at Camp.
Recreational activities allow children and adults to relax and enjoy the simplicity and beauty of life along the pristine shores of Sebago Lake in Casco, Maine. It is a beautiful place with a beautiful purpose and it could use our support.
There are many great organizations we can support. Camp Sunshine and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund are two groups worthy of our time and donations this holiday season. Thank you for taking a moment to read this...
Time to climb!
