My name is Ms. Saba. Ms. Batul and I are your child's Middle School Science Teachers. I am also the 7th Grade Purple Homeroom Teacher. All the middle school classes are working together to help raise funds for AFA. If each MS class is successful in meeting their overall combined goal then each MS teacher will have $1,000 to spend towards their subject. Read below to see how a $1,000 could benefit our science program. If Ms. Batul and I had a $1,000 to spend we would love to... -get a hand crank generator or two to allow students to create and see energy transformations with their own eyes! They would be able to understand motors, gears and wiring. -have a new Solar System model! One that the students can move and manipulate to understand the concept of the rotation of the planets/ moons and how we relate to the worlds around us. -have a small solar panel for understanding energy resources and more energy transformations! We want the students to love to conserve and reserve what precious resources we have left. -get a handy cart with bins to easily and safely transport chemicals and waste to the bathroom! -buy some cool and interesting science books that will hopefully peak their interests and encourage the students to experiment on their own time. -buy some useful items for the Science Program such as different sizes of balls and stop watches to do all kinds of Physics labs and demonstrations. -buy a few magnet sets to use for explaining so many things, not the least the polarity of the Earth, how opposites attract, and how to create electricity! -buy 2-3 microscopes, one that is compatible to LCD projector connection so that what is being viewed in the microscope can be projected and examined easily by all the students. “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today”. - Malcolm X Thank you so much for your continued support!
