BENEFITING: RUN FOR THE FALLEN MAINE
EVENT DATE: Oct 27, 2013
My name is Tom Pacyna, and I am running in the 38th Marine Corps Marathon in memory of Marine Master Sergeant Ryan Love on Sunday, October 27, 2013.
Msgt. Love passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2012. He grew up in the tiny town of Frankfort, Maine and was a dedicated career Marine joining in 1997. Ryan served in Kosovo and the Mediterranean and also served two tours in Iraq. He had five years left until full retirement. Ryan was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and friend. He, his wife, and young daughter were stationed in 29 Palms, California. When home from foreign duty, Ryan loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
All funds that I raise for Run For the Fallen Maine, a wonderful organization dedicated to keeping alive the memory of service members that gave their lives to protect our freedom since September 11, 2001, will help to provide the families of our fallen heroes with general assistance funds and scholarships. They hold an annual run to honor our fallen heroes each year in Portland, Maine to celebrate the lives of the men and women who have given their ultimate sacrifice to our country.
Running the Marine Corps Marathon will be my 6th full marathon, and my second time running a marathon on behalf of Run for the Fallen Maine! I previously ran the 2012 Boston Marathon as part of the Run For the Fallen Maine team - one of the hottest Boston Marathon race days on record!
I am very thankful and appreciative to everyone who donated to my prior fundraising efforts for Run for the Fallen Maine, and hope that you will consider supporting me again in my efforts this year for this great charity!
