Tom's Cancer Relief
Organized by: Matthew Sierp
My good friend Tom was diagnosed with liver cancer a couple of years ago. He has faught through it fairly well, however in the last several months he has started to loose a lot of his energy levels. Tom has always been the kind of person that gives, and does not ask. He has spent many years umpiring little league to be there as an example to kids. This year he was able to umpire at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA, one of his dreams.
Tom has worked in insurance for many years, and his job was sales oriented and goal oriented. He had missed a bit of time due to doctor visits, and days when his illness didn't allow him to have his normal energy levels. Unfortunately not meeting his goals led to his termination, and his loss of medical benefits.
Tom is currently going through the process of applying for Social Security benefits, but that will take some time. My hope is to raise $2,800 to bridge some costs for him until then for rent and any medical expenses he may incur in the time being. Due to ongoing costs in the last couple of years he does not have any money, savings or retirement that he can pull from for emergencies.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
