Tonga School Children Meals
Organized by: Katie Anders
In 2016, the Tonga People of Zimbabwe have faced a devastating drought, so severe that their livestock and cattle have suffered greatly–the the means for their daily life and survival.
The country is in crisis, and beacuse the Tonga people already stand in the shadows without government intervention on their behalf, the current state of the Siabuwa valley is threatening their lives. No harvest. No income. No food.
3 local schools are asking for desperately needed help, as the children are becoming malnourished. In efforts to keep them in school and healthy, they are asking for funds toward e'Pap, a simple and nutrious meal that simply costs 20 cents per meal.
There are 1,104 kids. The devastation from this season has yielded no harvest, and these children will need meals for the next year until the next harvest comes again.
- $20 funds 100 meals for 1 child
- $100 funds 500 meals
- (you do the math)
"The afflicted and needy are seeking water, but there is none, And their tongue is parched with thirst; I, the LORD, will answer them Myself, As the God of Israel I will not forsake them." –Isaiah 41:17
Please help these precious Tonga children. Thank you!
