BENEFITING: PACIFIC UNION COLLEGE
As many people know, I graduated from nursing school this past June. I told many people who asked, "What next?" that I wanted to serve as a nurse in another country for 2-3 months during the summer. I was planning to go to Cameroon in Africa, to work at an Adventist Hospital there. However, from the 300 girls kidnapped in Nigeria, to the outbreak of the Ebola virus, Africa became unstable. I was in contact with many other countries in Africa as well as countries in other continents, praying that God would open a door. He has a funny way of working sometimes.
After months of praying and working, an opportunity has arose in Fiji on an island called Mana. Pacific Union College, where I attend, has planned a mission trip to build a church as well as help in the local schools, teaching and spreading the Good News of Jesus. The trip begins this week, however, I will be joining the team next week, and staying for 3 weeks. The trip did not appear as an option until just recently as I was waiting to hear from other countries and hospitals, thus the short notice! In addition to helping build the church and teach in the school, because I just became an Registered Nurse, I will also be able to help in the local hospital. Jesus' ministry was to "preach, teach, and heal," and I believe the mission of this trip is to do just that.
From my previous plans in the beginning of the summer, I have raised some funds, however, I am short on money for the flight there. This dream of mine to serve others is finally becoming a reality, but I need YOUR help! Will you please donate and become a part of this service project for people in need of help?
Thank you SO much and God bless,
