EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
Hi! My name is Torill and I'M IN FOR THE RUN OF MY LIFE! That phrase is this year's New York City Marathon's motto. 26.2 miles, 46,145 yards, or 138,435 feet, is the distance I will have to run to complete my first marathon. But hey, whose counting?! What I will need to get to the finish line is motivation. I've learned that running takes a physical and emotional toll on one's body, and I've had to find various ways to make it through the long and grueling runs. I've realized that running for myself is just not enough. I want to do this for others. My sweetheart, Michael Lorenzo, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago. He motivates me every day to be a better and stronger person. And so, I've decided to run this race for him and all those affected by this disease. My journey to complete the marathon seems small compared to the journey those with diabetes and other diseases battle throughout their lives. Please join me in supporting this cause. Come out on Sunday, November 4th, 2012 to cheer for me and all those running in this year's New York City Marathon. I'm in, are you?
