Jhpiego's global mission is to prevent the needless deaths of women and children.
Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. For more than 40 years, Jhpiego has empowered front-line health workers by designing and implementing effective, low-cost, hands-on solutions to strengthen the delivery of health care services for women and their families. By putting evidence-based health innovations into everyday practice, Jhpiego works to break down barriers to high-quality health care for the world’s most vulnerable populations.
Jhpiego collaborates with local ministries of health, nongovernmental organizations, public and private sector hospitals and clinics, schools, associations and communities to build sustainable local capacity to deliver services through advocacy, policy development, quality improvement and performance measurement approaches.
Through the use of innovative approaches, Jhpiego puts research into practice and develops creative solutions to improve the health of women and families throughout the world. Jhpiego’s focus on technical areas includes:

• Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment
• Health Innovations
• Infectious Diseases:
• HIV/AIDS/Sexually Transmitted Infections
Creating systems to strengthen the delivery of health care services is at the core of Jhpiego’s work. To do this, we focus our expertise on:
• Human capacity development
• Service delivery policy, standards and guidelines
• Education, training and curriculum development
• Performance and quality improvement
Jhpiego's U.S. office is located in Baltimore, Maryland, and coordinates activities with Jhpiego’s country offices. Jhpeigo has worked with 146 countries worldwide and currently has active projects in nearly 60 countries.
