Total Loss from Flooding

We live near the Brazos River in Texas. It was going to be our forever home we purchased 3 years ago, but then came the flooding on May 28. We were told by people that have lived in the area that we may get a foot or so of water in our house. So we put the furniture up on blocks and everything else up onto the furniture. We got 7ft. It dropped to around 5ft. and stayed at that level for 4 to 5 days. This destroyed everything we had except for several bags of clothes we were able to get as we were told to evacuate. We have been married 40 years so you can only imagine the loss of family pictures and sentimental items that we had collected over the years. When we bought the house we were told it was in a 100 year flood area so we should be ok for at least 75 years. Flood insurance was quoted at $900 per month which was not possible on our fixed income. We have homeowners insurance with Travelers and have loss of use coverage they denied. The area has been declared a disaster area so we are hopeful FEMA will provide a little assistance. Now we must begin the process of rebuilding with no money to move forward. Anything you can do will be appreciated and we hope that you will be rewarded 20 times over for you generosity. We love you all. Thanks
