I am a passionate person. I am passionate about many things, but I am most passionate about my purpose, namely, helping struggling students succeed. My heart breaks when I see so many have such difficulty in school, causing many to drop out. Statistics regarding literacy are frightening. If a student isn't reading on grade level by 4th grade, they have a 60% chance to end up in prison. 85% of all juvenile offenders are illiterate, and 65% of the prison population in the US is illiterate. For many students, school becomes a traumatic experience. They often shut down by middle school, becoming behavioral issues. Some work hard, but life is getting in the way. The parents may be homeless, or in jail, or the students are going hungry. They may have learning disabilities. There are SO many factors that can stack the deck against these kids. I am fortunate that I have a unique, world-class tool set that I use to turn such challenged students around. What I do WORKS. I get RESULTS for these kids. However, I know there are many that cannot afford my rates. I currently work with students in my part time private practice ( I am full time in the education field, and use these tools every day on the job at an urban high school). Since this is part time, I can only take on 10 students for this program. The "Touch the Future" program would have an at-risk student work with me online (all of my work with this is online in my private practice. It works VERY well) two times per month, plus email support, plus contact with their teachers if possible, for an ENTIRE SCHOOL SEMESTER. I work with them with academic and life coaching. The academic coaching teaches students to learn HOW to learn, something they just don't get from school or tutors. Life coaching uses cutting edge techniques to help the deal with, well, life, and whatever challenges they are facing. These tools and techniques make a difference. I have helped homeless students graduate. I have helped gang members drop from the gang and graduate. I have helped learning disabled students graduate. I want to reach more of the neediest ones through my private practice. There are two ways to help. Option A is to sponsor a student as described above for $2499. If it is determined the student needs specific reading intervention, then it is $2799. You can donate all or part of this. When there are donation equaling this amount, then one student is sponsored for the school year. Option B is reading intervention ONLY. Giving the gift of reading alone can do SO much. I use the Universal Reading Method, a world-class reading program that brings fluency improvement RAPIDLY! To sponsor a student for this is $297. I can help these kids. Together, we can change lives. Indeed, we can TOUCH THE FUTURE! I named
